Bart

Bart is a startup building a new kind of marketplace for small business owners, one where you trade skills with other service providers instead of paying for them. Think UGC creators getting product from brands in exchange for content, except this version is for the everyday business owner who'd rather trade skills than write another invoice. It's a smart concept that makes total sense the second you hear it.

challenge

Bart isn't a launched product yet. The team is heading into a fundraising window over the next year or two, which means they need momentum before they have a live platform to point to. The brief was clear: build something that gets people on a waitlist now, so when launch day comes there's a community already standing by. The brand had to do a lot of work in a small window. Friendly enough to feel like the kind of thing you'd actually want to use, polished enough to convince investors there's a real business behind it, and obvious enough that someone landing on the page gets the concept without needing a five-minute explainer.

approach

The whole thing needed to feel approachable and playful with enough edge to hold its own. We built a brand identity that leaned into personality from the start: warm colour palette, friendly typography, and a set of custom illustrations that gave Bart a face. Funnily enough, the illustrations were AI-generated and then refined, which felt fitting for a startup that's literally built on smart trades. From there, we moved into Wix Studio to build out the waitlist landing page so the brand and the site spoke the same language from the second someone arrived. The goal was for signing up to feel like joining something genuinely exciting, the kind of waitlist you actually want your name on.

With Bart, we were designing the first impression of an idea that hadn't launched yet. The brand had to earn trust before there was even a product to trust, which meant every visual decision was pulling double duty. That's the part we love most.
